Commuter Dauntless

In 1946, the Sparkmann + Stevens shipyard designed a 66' (20.12m) Commutor (local transport yacht) to take wealthy businessmen down the Hudson River to New York. These yachts were used as private transport to travel to and from work each day or to visit popular destinations on the Hudson at weekends. The DAUNTLESS was commissioned by a prominent New York family. Without a doubt, every trip on the DAUNTLESS was a pleasure. The great days of the DAUNTLESS have passed and now you have the opportunity to bring this magnificent yacht back to life from the DUMAS programme.

The DAUNTLESS is made almost entirely from 3mm plywood. All parts are neatly punched out and the kit contains 38 pieces of various metal fittings. The dimensions of the DAUNTLESS allow for a large number of different drive methods. Various electric, glow or petrol engines can be used. Now it is up to you to make the final decision for the keel laying of the DAUNTLESS.
